Baba

Baba, by Bernadine Pardue and Matthew Sharp, is a short animated film loosely based on the Russian folk-tale of Baba Yaga and Vasilisa the Beautiful. The aims of this project were to create a visually individual piece, utilizing both 3D and 2D animation techniques in order to create a seamless blend of styles, which were overtly simplistic, yet highly engaging. The narrative draws upon the ideas of our origins, our relationships with nature, and the meanings of lost rituals.
