With her unmistakable style, choreographer Krisztina de Châtel grew to be the unchallenged master of minimal dance. She has showcased her style on international stages for 42 years, but remains continuously innovative in her work.
Filmmakers Manon Lichtveld and Bas Westerhof travel to her birthplace in Budapest.

Together they go looking for De Châtel’s so called source of ‘uncontrollable restraint’. On their journey we slowly discover how she learned to balance her disciplined upbringing and her unfettered urge to express herself. This is a special insight into the life and drive of an ever persistent choreographer.
