SecretScience PortraitPortalVillepruex-Power/Virtual Tour
With my interest to re-right history, I continue creating projections and sculpture installations about women in science, Unsung (S)heros, who made major contributions to advance their fields but were ‘ghosted’ and excised from records at the time of discovery. A 360° surround experience happens inside the environmental sculpture after people enter a submarine door to step into the first aquarium that was invented by French marine biologist Jeanne Villepreux-Power. She also discovered the paper nautilus mollusk secretes liquid that heals its shell when it breaks.
Her life and challenges may live only via this 360°video I made from still photos and interior wall projections after virtually entering the Sub-marine door, hearing conversations and being inside the 2D interior wall video projections surrounding you. These are made to be experienced without wearing Virtual Reality headsets.
