This is the final part of my dystopian trilogy for Orbital. Shot low tech on a black widow at various brutalist locations around London in the depths of winter using available light, the dystopian feel is exaggerated by the architecture. The much loved multi coloured GIFF sequence (with multiple dancing Cillian's in fancy dress) was shot in an underground carpark in Hackney, the comping was nightmarish because shot at 4K - the moving layers just ate data. Cillian to be fair was game for the whole thing despite freezing his nuts off.
As Orbitals Paul Hartnoll - "Its the Giff that keeps on giving..."
Mr. Ben in dystopia
Every morning a man wearing a black suit and bowler hat, leaves his suburban home.
On his way to work, he passes a fancy-dress shop, where he is invited by a shopkeeper to try on an outfit. He leaves the shop through a magic door at the back and enters another world, where he has an adventure, before the shopkeeper reappears to lead him back...the grind of his daily life
