A young Native American girl who faces feelings of isolation finds hope, and herself, through a deeper appreciation for her family and culture. KhaLoni attends a Native American alternative school where she learns about her Native roots, and finally feels at peace with herself. She shares her knowledge with younger children, to give them a better sense of who they are, and to keep her culture alive.
