Teenage Pregnancy Prevention
This video was produced by the Holyoke Public Schools Media Center to shine a light on the issue of teenage pregnancy.
In eighth grade health classes, the school system uses a curriculum called “It Pays”. It is a teen pregnancy prevention program that includes an evidence based sexuality education curriculum called "Making Proud Choices”.
“Making Proud Choices” is designed to empower adolescents to act in ways that will significantly decrease their chances of being involved in unintended pregnancies and reduce their risk of becoming infected with STD’s and HIV. The curriculum teaches skills for delaying sexual activity and encourages the practice of safer sex.
