Holyoke High School senior Tyshaun Diaz to play baseball at Southern Connecticut State University
Holyoke High School senior Tyshaun Diaz signed a letter of intent to play
baseball at Southern Connecticut State University today.
Last season, as a junior, Tyshaun, batted .344 and had a team-leading 20 RBI. Tyshaun also ended his junior campaign with a .467 on-base percentage and with a .508 slugging percentage. Tyshaun was also dominant on the mound with a 1.81 earned run average, tallying up 55 strikeouts in 34.2 innings, while keeping the opponent batting average to a meager .181. For the 2018 season, Tyshaun also earned All-League and All-Western Mass First Team honors.
“Ty is a hardworking individual who genuinely loves baseball. He is also a very gifted athlete and when you combine those two, great things can happen. We, as a coaching and athletic staff, are extremely proud of Ty and happy for his entire family for earning this scholarship.” Stated Coach Ryan Bowler.
