As Senior Scholar for National Urban Alliance I am facilitating Amplifying Student Voice, coaching district coaches and leading professional development with educators with critical thinking tools and skills at school sites. The video camera, editing and interviews are done by myself with collaboration from students for the filming.

National Urban Alliance - Redwood City School District - Garfield Community School - Amplifying Student Voice

The video clip is longer than my usual under six minutes because I believe it captures the spirit of the whole process including NUA's Pedagogy of Confidence HOPs: the importance of the steps with modeling, and seeing all elements in the 90 minute project based experience of the student centered process. I appreciate all thoughts, reflections, questions and feedback. Also seeing the steps of a process, model and strategy is a model for professional development video clips of 'how-to-do'. Any of the different strategies and models could be a short video clip in themselves. The goal is to video tape RCSD teachers as models of excellence doing various student centered HOPs models and strategies for affirmation and sharing as professional development video clips with their peers.
Jorge, a student at Garfield, filmed some of the Garfield footage as well and is credited by first name on the credits.
