Teacher Spotlight: Allyson Uttendorfer
We live in a world increasingly connected by social media. Why wouldn't we want our classrooms to reflect that and help prepare students to be active participants in the global conversation?
Alysson Uttendorfer, an art teacher at Half Hollow Hills East High School in Long Island talks about the use of social media in her photography classes and how using platforms like Instagram and Twitter is helping enrich student projects.
"To me art doesn't end when my students leave the classroom," Uttendofer said. "One of the ways I was able to extend my projects and share the wonderful things that all of my students are doing is through social media."
