One of the most theologically rich epistles of the New Testament is the letter to the Colossians written by the apostle Paul to his spiritual grandchildren whom he never met personally. Being written at the end of his life during his imprisonment in Rome, this epistle reflects the apostle's mature Christian thinking.

Paul provides one of the clearest statements of Christology in all of Scripture in this text. Jesus is the Christ who is the creator, sustainer, and goal of the universe. Everything is from him, through him and to him—no exceptions.
