Filter Tests

The following videos are filter tests with our various contrast and diffusion filters on a few different cameras.

ARRI ALEXA W/ DIGICON (CONTRAST)

Schneider Optics MPTV Digicon filter test on the Arri Alexa
The Alexa has a 35mm CMOS Sensor

For a "filmic look" when shooting with digital cameras. When used in front of the lens, optically raises black levels while lowering highlights.
By compensating with in-camera gamma settings, a higher dynamic range can be recorded than the camera alone can achieve. The result is more detail in highlights and shadows with no effect on resolution and no color shift. Highlight areas remain clean and halo-free. May be used on a 35mm cine camera to approximate the look of a lower contrast film stock.
This filter is available in strengths of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, and 2. These strengths achieve a subtle to a heavy effect.
