Part 1 - SAQA Critiques with Dr. Sandra Sider
This year the SAQA Education committee is bringing you a series of webinars on critique. Sandra Sider, a New York studio quilt artist working in photographic processes since the 1980s, has led critique workshops for SAQA since 2005. She holds an M.A. in art history from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, and taught art history and material culture at the college level from 2004 to 2014. Between 2010 and 2013, Sandra served as president of SAQA, and today she is Editor of SAQA's Art Quilt Quarterly as well as Curator of the Texas Quilt Museum.
In this 3-part video critique, Sandra provided three different artists with helpful insight about their artwork. In the first part of this series, Sandra offers guidance on the artwork of SAQA member Lorna Morck.
