Chimera 2013 / Robert Appleton with Tony Oxley and Derek Bailey

I improvise digital imagery in 2013 Toronto with sound from Tony Oxley and Derek Bailey recorded in 1975 London, the same year I was Oxley’s percussion student.

Chimera in Biology is an organism containing genetically different tissues. In Greek Mythology it is a fire-breathing female monster with a lion’s body, a goat’s head and a serpent’s tail. The collaborative performance works Chimera are a mashup of resonant memory and tele-presence ‘spoken’ across time and space.
