Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services

On September 12, 2021, the congregation of First Lutheran Church of Galveston explored the ministry of the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS) to share in conversation around the issues of immigration and refugees. In light of the Afghan crisis and immigration concerns, this timely presentation and discussion was led by Ted Goins, President of Lutheran Services Carolinas. Mr. Goins offered his insight on the ground realities of the both the positive and negative impacts of immigration, and how the system actually works.
