  1. Don Frank Hermanson, Organist At First Lutheran Church of Galveston

The pipe organ in the chancel of the nave was built in 1926. After the arrival of the gallery organ in 1973, this pipe organ ceased to be used on a weekly basis and by the late 1980's it was unplayable. However, as the 1990's began the congregation again came to realize the significance of this fine musical instrument, and under the supervision of Organist-Choirmaster Don F. Hermanson, a program of restoration and improvements was begun and today the pipe organ is widely enjoyed by the congregation. "Truly music is the handmaiden of theology" - Martin Luther
