Stories from the Multimedia Toolbox - Collaborations for Cause 2012
As documentary team, Benj and Sara help NGOs, agencies and editorial clients tell important stories through photography, video and strategic branding. They’ll present a series of case studies that show how the multimedia toolbox can help both local nonprofits and international organizations reach new audiences across a multi-platform media landscape. We’ll spend time with prisoners growing endangered frogs, go to school with Mozambique’s first optometrists and meet oyster farmers struggling with ocean acidification.
Photographer Benjamin Drummond and producer Sara Joy Steele have been telling stories about people, nature and climate change for almost a decade. They work with a diverse range of clients, from Conservation International and the Washington State Department of Corrections, to the Mozambique Eyecare Project and North Cascades Institute. Their personal project, Facing Climate Change, tells the story of global change through local people. It has been sponsored by Blue Earth since 2007.
Collaborations for Cause, hosted May 4th & 5th 2012 by the Blue Earth Alliance, was a retreat for communications professionals who want and need to use emerging new media outlets to build strong, lasting bridges among creative multimedia storytellers, non-profits, socially responsible corporations and supporting communities.
