Anne Wilkes Tucker: WAR/PHOTOGRAPHY

Find out more about WAR/PHOTOGRAPHY in our exclusive interview with Anne:

Ten years in the making, WAR/PHOTOGRAPHY: Images of Armed Conflict and Its Aftermath premiered at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH) on Veteran’s Day, 2012. After its initial run at MFAH, the exhibition moved to the Annenberg Space for Photography in Los Angeles from March 23rd, 2013 to June 2nd, 2013. Through the work of the museum's renowned curators — Anne Wilkes Tucker, Will Michels and Natalie Zelt – this comprehensive exhibition (complete with 600-page catalogue) examines how photography informs and interprets history. In total, the exhibition’s catalog features almost 500 objects from 280 photographers worldwide, taken from the advent of photography through present day.

After the Annenberg Space for Photography concludes its leg of the exhibition, the Corcoran Gallery of Art in D.C. will host from June 29, 2013 to September 29, 2013, and the Brooklyn Museum will follow later in 2014. Each institution brings its own specialized curation and programming for the travelling exhibition.

PhotoWings' mission is to highlight and help facilitate the power of photography to influence the world. We help photography to be better understood, created, utilized, seen, and saved.
