2014 Franklin County Courthouse Tour
The Franklin County Courthouse is located in Chambersburg, PA, a town rich with history. In this episode of “Pennsylvania’s Historic Courthouses,” you will not only get to see and hear about the history, architecture, and stories of the courthouse, but the town of Chambersburg as well. Chambersburg was the only northern city that was burned to the ground during the Civil War, including its courthouse that was rebuilt from the ashes to today’s beautiful structure. Join us as we walk the town square surrounding the courthouse and see the John Jack Tavern (site of the original Franklin County Courthouse), the John Brown House and the old county jail.
