Born in Canada, Vincent studied the Suzuki violin method, and was a student of The Royal Conservatory of Music in Vancouver. She went on to attend Berklee College of Music where she graduated with a dual major in Film Scoring and Composition. She was one of only eight composers selected to participate in the 2018 BMI conducting workshop, taught by Grammy-winning composer-conductor Lucas Richman.
True to her prolific and versatile talents, Genevieve has seen a trio of her projects come to life in the past month alone. She recently completed the score for the National Film Board of Canada documentary ‘Because We Are Girls’, directed by Baljit Sangra. In July she celebrated the release of her EP “Petit Rêve” which features her original music and lyrics along with performances by Grammy-nominated pianist Nadia Shpachenko and acclaimed vocalist Monika Beal.
Vincent also comprises half of the electronic-pop production duo darkDARK, who recently co-wrote a track with Interscope artist J.I.D. that was featured in the promo for the 2018 season of Fox’s hit series ‘Empire’, as well as the trailer for 20th Century FOX film ‘The Hate U Give’. In addition, in early 2018, the duo teamed up with Mau5trap artist HEYZ to create Ride Recordings release “Daylight ft.darkDARK” for which Vincent provided topline and vocals. darkDARK has been featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered, Noisey, and Consequence of Sound, among other notable outlets.
Vincent’s concert music has been performed by The Echo Society, The Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, La Société de Concerts de Montréal, Local Opera Local Artists, The Music By Women Festival, Sigma Alpha Iota, The Kalistos String Orchestra, the Esterhazy String Quartet, and The Instrumental Wind Ensemble of Argentina’s National University of Villa María (UNVM). Her feature and short film credits include ‘Mixed Match’, ‘One Big Hapa Family’, ‘The Love Trials’, ‘Ode To A Post-It Note’, ‘Kevin's Friend’, ‘Yellow Sticky Notes: Canadian Anijam’ and ‘Lady Parts’, among others.
