Child Care & Coronavirus: Providers Speak Out

Since the coronavirus pandemic began, more than half of early care and education (ECE) programs have closed and more than 700,000 educators have been laid off or furloughed. What does this mean for the nearly 22 million working parents of children under six, for the wellbeing of children and the many small businesses providing essential services?

Below are stories from child care providers across the country, running both centers and family child care homes. Through virtual conversations, they speak about how COVID-19 has affected their ability to educate the future generation, how funding could help keep them open and how the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) has supported them through grants, technical assistance and PPP loan applications.
