Undergraduate Degree Show 2014

Open Boundaries is a short visual film about self-realisation and renewal. It features a pharaonic main character that swims upwards from deep within the ocean’s depths and emerges with the sunrise, recalling the eternal cycle of sunrise and rebirth. The change is also shown visibly through the medium of the character’s body, which morphs from a small baby, weak and enclosed underwater, to an adult in his prime, powerful and free in the world. As the character grows, he simultaneously swims upwards, towards the surface, and finally reaches adulthood after he breaks the surface and emerges into the world.
