Artist in Residence Project

Nashville Metro Archives Audiovisual Heritage Center has an annual Artist in Residence (AIR) Program. The program supports one artist annually who works with archives staff to create a new artwork using newly preserved footage from collections.

Description: A video art work by that explores the psychology of change, nostalgia, and relational memory amid rapid change in Nashville using drones, archival film, and sound art. The work is created by Brian Siskind, Nashville Metro Archives’ 2019 Artist in Residence. It incorporates archival footage from Metro’s Audiovisual Heritage Center, come of which has not been seen in over half a century. This is the first piece created through the Artist in Residence Program.
