Abdul Wardak Builds a Rubab
In 2009 I worked as a research assistant and camera operator for Dr. Federico Spinetti. I spent six months visiting Mr. Wardak each week in the basement of the seniors centre that he frequented. The centre had a wood working shop and here Mr. Wardak builds rubabs, a traditional from his homeland, Afghanistan. This is a short cut of the process that was used as a promo piece on the night of his gifting this instrument to the University of Alberta, Folkways Alive! archive.
