Quartet 2 is a filmic interpretation of Daniel Brophy's string quartet of the same name. I explore the sometimes terrible tension that exists between irreducible modes of existence. Between black and white, between emptiness and fullness, past and present, we experience a tension that is born from the gravitational force of sense. We expect the flow to reach a point of completion but are frustrated when against our will the flow moves elsewhere. Quartet 2 is a film that explores tension and release as it is tied to expectations. It is also a film about flow, boundary, and becoming.
