MEMIC Honors Landry/French Construction Company for Workplace Safety
Landry/French Construction Company of Scarborough, Maine was recently honored with an award for exceptional on-the-job safety performance during The MEMIC Group’s Annual Meeting of Policyholders. Only eight employers, out of more than 21,000 MEMIC policyholders across the country, received a 2019 award for workplace safety from the workers’ compensation insurance specialist.
With offices in Maine and New Hampshire, Landry/French is one of the region's leading commercial construction companies offering construction management, design/build, general contracting services, and preconstruction and planning services. Started by Denis Landry and Kevin French in 2010, they are now 100% employee-owned, one of Maine’s fastest growing companies and have been ranked in the Top Ten of the Best Places to Work in Maine for the past four years in the small company category.
“Their leadership from the top down truly embraces the safety mindset MEMIC strives to support. The safety record and culture at Landry/French continues to be an example for other construction companies to follow,” said MEMIC Safety Management Consultant Daniel Thibeault.
“We want everyone to go home safely at the end of the day. So we have to build a culture of safety and make it important to everyone,” said Landry/French President Denis Landry. He said of the safety award from MEMIC, “It shows the commitment that all of our employees have made and the hard work that they’ve put into it.”
“It all starts with Mr. Landry. He’s here weekly with just about all his projects. If we have issues with safety, he supports us 100%,” said Landry/French Superintendent Steve LaPointe.
