A relentless, two-year investigation that led to a new state law, proposed federal legislation, a statewide review of health regulations, sweeping policy changes at local and state agencies, and national awareness about the use of ketamine, by paramedics, to sedate agitated people outside of a hospital.

While our investigation started in 2019, we continued to produce dozens of investigative stories in 2021.

A handful of those reports are included here.

The fourth link below, Sedated, is a special television program, the culmination of our two years of investigative work.

FOX31 uncovers body camera footage showing a paramedic violating the new state law. Although new regulations should have prevented him from sedating the man, he gave him ketamine anyway.
