SEDATED

A relentless, two-year investigation that led to a new state law, proposed federal legislation, a statewide review of health regulations, sweeping policy changes at local and state agencies, and national awareness about the use of ketamine, by paramedics, to sedate agitated people outside of a hospital.

While our investigation started in 2019, we continued to produce dozens of investigative stories in 2021.

A handful of those reports are included here.

The fourth link below, Sedated, is a special television program, the culmination of our two years of investigative work.

WHAT IS EXCITED DELIRIUM? (February 2021)

FOX31 investigates the extremely agitated and controversial condition medics refer to as "Excited Delirium." It is the condition for which medics were allowed to administer ketamine to people outside of a hospital setting. Colorado no longer accepts this condition as a reason to give the drug.
