TOM MATHISON: The Growing Season

A true rags to riches story, this half-hour documentary follows the life of Tom Mathison from his humble beginnings on the family farm, to the foxholes of World War II, to his missteps and struggles as a small farmer in the 1950s on the way to becoming a major force in the world tree-fruit industry as founder of Stemilt Fruit. A high tolerance for risk, an unparalleled work ethic and an absolute refusal to fail were his hallmarks.
