Visit to First Presbyterian Church Lake Placid
Thank you so much First Presbyterian Church Lake Placid for you partnership in the gospel. I made this short aerial video during our recent visit to this wonderful and growing ARP Church.
"And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” Isaiah 6:8
Date of our visit to First Presbyterian Church Lake Placid: February 9
This weekend our family officially is beginning our speaking engagements for our furlough 2020. Please pray for God’s protection as we will be driving through the East Coast to visit 30 plus Churches. Also we ask for your prayers as we share about our Church Planting Ministry in Madrid and especially as we share God’s invitation to share the love of Christ to those far and near.
Praying that our visits to Churches and donors would spur us all to greater faithfulness and fruitfulness in God’s worldwide mission.
Juan Carlos & Ruth Bonilla began missionary service with World Witness in 2003, with Ruth serving in children and youth ministry in San Luis Potosí and Rio Verde, Mexico. In 2005, Ruth became World Witness Short-Term Missions Coordinator. Juan Carlos, a native of Ecuador, received his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Erskine Theological Seminary and was ordained in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church under Catawba Presbytery. From 2001-2004, he pastored in Mexico and in 2008 was commissioned as World Witness Short-Term Missions Coordinator. In February 2011, the Bonillas moved to Guadalajara, Mexico, where they established a Church. In 2014, the Lord re-directed them to Spain and to the work of planting a missional and multicultural led congregation among young professional families in Madrid. The Bonillas have two daughters, Esther Catherine and Sarah Pressly.

Short-Term Missions Trip to Rwanda, Africa
"The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn. Isaiah 61:1- 2
Final day Madrid English Camp 2019
Today was such a good last day! The kids decorated their picture frames and put our group picture in the frame so that they will always remember English Camp. Then we played 4 corners, but only with 3 corners because in Italy they celebrate the 3 wise men. We even had our very own La Befana (Italian Santa Claus) fly across the room. For snack we decorated cookies to look like Italy's flag. To close out the week we all watched the videos from each day showing what we had all done. The kids loved seeing all the games and activities they did throughout the week and the parents loved seeing the joy their kids had each day. It was so sad to say goodbye, but it was extremely heartwarming to see the how much the kids, parents, and teachers enjoyed this week. The kids came to the camp to learn more about English, but I ended up learning even more from them. - Anne Kiser

Day 4 Madrid English Camp 2019
Day 4 of English Camp took us to Germany where we learned about St. Nicholas Day, Christmas Markets, the season of Advent with the advent wreath and how the tradition of decorating Christmas trees began. The most popular part of the day was snack time when we decorated and then ate our gingerbread houses! After a few rounds of 4 Square, hopscotch and jumping rope we returned to find a German Christmas Market in our meeting room. The children were thrilled to be given some money and allowed to shop for candies and toys! - Greg and Michele Harbin
