The Great Betrayal

Has anyone who knew you ever denied knowing you? Has a close friend ever been disloyal? Whether it was His own home town or His closest friends, Jesus knew what it was like to be betrayed. This four-week series deals with those who betrayed, denied, and abandoned Jesus leading up to his crucifixion. Through examining Peter, Judas, and the other disciples' unfaithfulness, we can ultimately see the faithfulness of Christ and his love and redemption in our brokenness.

A Betrayal of Loyalties

Peter was devoted to his Lord. He was willing to even die for Jesus, or so he said and thought. But Satan would sift him to show there was a disloyalty that needed to be revealed and dealt with, and Peter learned about himself. We also see the patience and passion of Jesus, who did not abandon Peter, but helped him regain his meaning and purpose.
