The Road to Mississippi Reclaiming Our History. 1990. 29min.

Through Our Eyes Video and History students at Schomburg Satellite Academy in the Bronx took their filmmaking and media literacy skills further by critically analyzing the Hollywood film Mississippi Burning. They interviewed civil rights veterans in NYC and Mississippi Burning's producer before spending a week in Mississippi, retracing the steps of Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner. The project made a deep impact on student filmmakers and their teacher alike. Pam Sporn, Grito Productions. gritoproductions.com
