CPTN A&S - Stretches

The following videos demonstrate stretching exercises that can be used in the warm up and cool down portions of the CPT Program Design assignment.

14. Prone Rectus Femoris + Quadriceps Stretch

Purpose: Stretch and create relaxation in the rectus femoris + quadriceps muscles.

Execution
1. Fold medium-large sized towel and place on floor. Towel should be one or more inches high when compressed.
2. Lie down with the lower part of the thigh supported by the towel. Relax head on forearm.
3. Bend left knee and grab it with left hand (or stretch strap). Stretch should be felt in the front aspect of the thigh. (Inhale)
4. Squeeze glute and actively lift knee upward to increase stretch. (Exhale)
5. Relax glutes (Inhale) and repeat until release is felt.
