15. Standing Calf Stretch
Purpose: To stretch the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles.
Execution
1. Hold on to pole with straight or bent elbows to obtain a body position that allows ball of left foot to be placed on pole. Knee is straight.
2. Contract tibialis anterior (front of shin) and pull with hands as stretch is felt. (Exhale)
3. Gently come out of stretch. (Inhale)
4. Repeat until release is felt. Then repeat with bent knee.
5. Repeat to the other side.
