Unholy Rackett presents 'Il Maestro Del Fagotto'
Il Maestro Del Fagotto
(“the bassoon master”)
Embark on a journey in the footsteps of the Spanish Renaissance composer and instrumentalist Bartolomé de Selma y Salaverde, the most famous descendent of a family of bassoon makers, performers and composers. Exploring repertoire from the conservative church polyphony of de Selma’s native Iberian Penninsula, to the decadent late-Renaissance dance suites of Imperial Austria where he spent his early career, and finally to the thrilling new-Baroque style of Venice where he eventually settled.
