The GSK Centre for Sustainable Chemistry
The world's first Carbon Neutral Laboratories are at the University of Nottingham's Jubilee Campus. Designed by architects Fairhursts Design Group, this iconic structure is entirely timber and comprises several large labs at first floor level and an extensive 'winter garden' together with offices and plant on the ground floor. The landscaping forms part of the structure, sweeping up the green roof to the four extractor vents or 'horns' as they're affectionately known. This building has been the recipient of several major design awards in the first few months of its opening and is being submitted for more in 2017.
