I want to announce Brain Hooks 2.0. And what exactly is Brain Hooks 2.0, you ask?

Well, starting in October of 2022, I set out to write a book of short stories. This project was a lifelong bucket list item and something I’d promised to get to “one day.” I’m proud to say that “one day” has arrived, and “Instant Ancestors” is now available on Amazon through Kindle Direct Publishing and will soon be available in Malaprop’s Bookstore and Cafe, my favorite local bookstore in Asheville. To get “Instant Ancestors” in your favorite bookstore, ask them to carry it, and they can order through IndieBound.

Working in marketing communications all my life, I was used to “storytelling” as it related to products or services. For example, the concept of “Brand Character” is well-known in the ad world and is essential in getting customers to form a relationship with a brand. So, making the leap from creating stories about products to characters seemed like a fun and logical expenditure of time. And trust me, it was fun. It wasn’t easy, but it damn sure was fun.

Until “Instant Ancestors” hits the New York Times best sellers list, I still have my day job, creating stories in video form and other propaganda.

These are some recent projects between Brain Hooks and other creative partners in the Asheville area. My role within these projects varies from Creative Director/Art Director to editor to general cat herder/producer.
