Warsaw Rising Museum

Video profile about the Warsaw Rising Museum in Warsaw, Poland. The Polish Uprising in Warsaw is often confused with the Jewish Ghetto Uprising in the same city (April 1943) - the general uprirising of the Polish underground resistance, led by the Polish Home Army, started on August 1, 1944 and lasted for 63 days. It was the largest single military action undertaken by a European resistance movement during the Second World War - and cost the lives of up to 16,000 Polish resistance fighters and as many as 150,000 - 200,000 civilians (many killed in mass executions after the uprising was crushed by German military forces).
