How To Share Your Faith with Brother Bob

Bob Gal takes us through a practical course on how to share your faith. What do you say? Where do you start? How do you lead someone to Jesus? This course is designed to give practical tips and have a good discussion on sharing the greatest story ever told.

Sharing Your Faith Session 1

This first session is about understanding the language (authoritative vocabulary) accepted for spiritual reasoning in our western culture.

In the 17th century Galileo’s observations with a telescope confirmed what Nicolaus Copernicus discovered a century before that the earth was not flat and the sun was the centre of our galaxy. Christianity eventually adopted to accept the discoveries that Galileo taught as a faithful follower of Jesus Christ but he was placed under house arrest for the last 10 years of his life for his teaching by the inquisition of the church.
In the 20th century astronomers discovered an expanding universe without a centre. All scripture is divinely inspired, but all interpretations are not.
Our interpretations must advance without compromising the inspiration and authority of God’s Word.
Today there are 3 major Christian apologetic positions describing Intelligent Design (ID) of the universe.
Young Earth: Genesis account of creation in 6-24 hour days, 6000 years ago
Old Earth: Genesis account the Heb. word ‘Yom’ interpreted as ‘Day’ is a finite time, not 24 hours as sun did not appear until the 4th day; gaps in genealogies
Theistic Evolution: Genesis account is allegorical, evolution occurred as biologists describe it, but under the direction of God.

Paul used the Greek culture to introduce the Gospel to the people of Athens (Acts 17:16-31) “I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some.” (1 Cor. 9:21)

How would you use scientific & mathematical reasoning to introduce the gospel to unbelievers of western culture today?
