Basel Farag - Swift Metal: The future of scientific programming?

Swift and the Apple framework Metal have demonstrated incredible speeds when it comes to calculating simple problems. These speeds outstrip languages like Python, R, and sometimes even Scala in completion time. In my session I will argue for Swift as a potential alternative to traditional Machine Learning/AI scientific programming languages, and what an expressive language like Swift might ultimately mean for the proliferation of Machine Learning amongst the masses.
