Chinese New Year Celebration at Scarborough Town Centre 2011
Scarborough Town Centre was the site of a series of events on Saturday and Sunday to welcome the Year of the Rabbit - Chinese New Year (February 3, 2011). Celebrities and hundreds of shoppers enjoyed the thunder drums, the eye-dotting ceremony, lion dances, arrival of the God of Fortune, chop stick competition, martial artists, a rare Sichuan Face Changing performance and other cultural activities. Drum, lion dances and Wushu (Kung-fu) performances were by students from Wushu International College.
The Rabbit is intelligent, well mannered, talented and usually, lucky in life. Those born in this 4th year in the 12 year cycle of the Chinese Zodiac are calm, gentle and persistent. The predictions are for a calm and peaceful year and a good reason to go shopping.
Happy Chinese New Year and Gung Hay Fat Choy!
