This is the trailer for a since cancelled documentary project for the now closed NeedCreative website. The project was eventually cancelled due to lack of a significant amount of quality resources and assets necessary to complete a final feature. Two days on a whim at NAB in April with little gear, time, or resources was not enough to get what was needed for a proper piece.
(In contrast, my most recent work, a far better 27 minute documentary about the 10th anniversary of 9/11/01 entitled "Why We're Here", took many months to film and more months to edit. Unfortunately at this time I'm not allowed to show it to the general public.)
That said, I don't think big ideas should be ignored. 10,000 people responded positively to this piece, even if it wasn't particularly well shot or executed, because they were inspired by the concept. Therefore I decided to repost it as a historical work.
While at this time I don't plan on expanding the concept any further, I hope someone sees this and is at least inspired to do something more. Whether that's a film, a proper "Visualmakers" with inspiration credit to this trailer, or just to keep plugging away as a nascent filmmaker - I hope someone's moved… again.
I've created far better work since and before this trailer, but in a sense the idea behind this trailer is one of the best. I hope it resonates with you.
My sincere thanks to all who participated in this project.
