In June 2011, the National Theatre of Scotland celebrated its fifth birthday with Five Minute Theatre. Around 1000 people from all over the world created a truly astonishing online theatrical experience that culminated in 24 hours of live performance on June 21st and June 22nd 2011.
Following the success of 2011’s 24 hour extravanganza, the National Theatre of Scotland’s provocative, democratic, delightfully random and logistically audacious Five Minute Theatre returns for five shorter digital and interactive bursts this year, each exploring a different theme. The first – with the theme ‘protest’ burst on to screens in May with over 60 mini theatre productions – from all over Scotland, the UK, and the rest of the world – streamed on our virtual stage.
