Near-Infrared Laser as a Complementary Therapy During Recovery From Musculoskeletal Soft Tissue Injuries
LASER (light amplification of stimulated emissions of radiation) uses organized beams of light to stimulate or suppress cell function through a process known as photobiomodulation. The webinar will discuss the concept of near infrared LASER as a therapeutic modality used as a complementary therapy during recovery from musculoskeletal soft tissue injury. During the presentation I will describe the components of a LASER and how it is used in clinical athletic training settings. The webinar will conclude with a detailed presentation of the LASER’s biological effects on tissues and the scientific evidence regarding its effectiveness in various clinical areas such as pain management, inflammation modulation and tissue repair and rehabilitation.
