Travelling Head Cutting Presses

The GCT range of travelling head presses provides a versatility rarely achieved by other press styles and is the natural progression if a swing arm press is too small or limited for an application.
The travelling head press has the key advantages of being able to process material in roll form as well as sheets, in their full width, without previously ranging down. Larger head sizes and cutting forces permit the cutting of a wider range of materials, in single or multiple layers, with larger cutting dies, although small dies can be used equally as well.
Simple, safe and virtually effortless to use, the operator has only to position or feed the material onto the bed of the press and place the cutting tool. On activation, the press head travels across, descends under hydraulic power to cut the required shape or shapes. The press head moves away automatically after the cut so that the operator has perfect access and visibility to remove the cut pieces and re-position the tool for the next cut.

Receding Head Press
Our receding head press is the No. 1 best seller in the UK and is our best selling die cutting press.The success of this range is due to its outstanding versatility. It is ideal for cutting components large or small, from sheets or rolls, in single or multi layers, using all types of tooling strip steel, wood forme or forged steel.
It is fast, easy and safe to operate, with unrivalled access and visibility.
Unlike the fixed beam cutting press, there is no work tray to push and pull. Instead, the cutting head is motor driven forwards and backwards to reveal the cutting area so that perfect access and visibility are assured.
Additionally, because the bed is fixed, the process of feeding material becomes much easier with no possibility of the material layers being disturbed.
These machines are delightfully easy to operate the operator places the cutting tool on the material, the head travels forward, down, and retracts to reveal the cut components.
A variety of feed systems can be specified to enhance productivity even further.
The cutting tool can be used to cut downwards, or upwards, and can also be clamped to the head when required.
