Over the past few decades, Africa has been one of the most conflict-prone areas of the world. The region has witnessed numerous civil wars and, according to some estimates, at least 9 million lives have been lost in conflicts across the African continent since 1190. In this video, regional experts discuss the need for the African Union to enhance its peace mediation support capacity and identify practical ways in which such capacity could be improved.
